Along with the high level of safety achieved, the electrical design of the switch is efficient and it will not negatively impact the start or charge circuits of the application.

The original Baxters DPS series Electronic Battery Master switch offered may features as standard in the one device. The switch is designed to isolate a vehicles batteries and electrical circuits to render it safe and inoperable in many conditions. This can be done manually at the switch or via an optional hard wired remote mounted control (for instance to prevent theft, misuse or in the event of an electrical short circuit) or automatically, such as in the case of a vehicle rollover when a rollover devise is connected. The Baxters DPS series Electronic Battery Master switch is fitted OE to Mack and Volvo trucks, and has been the most commonly fitted battery master switch to dangerous goods vehicles  for the past 15 years.
